Jack Chiang, Ph.D., P.E.
Dr. Chiang was born in Taiwan. He graduated from Taiwan University of Science and Technology with a BS degree in 1977, Taiwan
Chiao Tung University with a MS degree in 1980. He came to the USA to study at Polytechnic University and earned a MS degree
and PhD degree in Transportation Planning and Engineering in 1982 and 1989, respectively. He became a registered professional
engineer in 1983.
Dr. Chiang worked for Parsons Brinckerhoff (PB) as Supervision Engineer and Professional Associate from 1985 thru 1993.
Since 1993, he has been working in the New York State Department of Transportation, New York City Region's Planning Group
as Consultant Manager. He was an Adjunct Professor of SUNY's PE Exam Review Program in 1995-96 and helped many individuals
passed PE exams. In 2004, Dr. Chiang was awarded of Excellence for Outstanding Dedicated Effort to Improve Mobility, a project
that evolved into the Queens Midtown Viaduct Movable Barrier Project.
Dr. Chiang is very interested in the latest transportation development in China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan. He has participated
and presented several technical papers in major conferences including the NACOTA annual meetings and China conference series.
Statement
If elected as Board of Director Member, I will do my best in member development, outreach, and promote the main goals of NACOTA.
